Gilligan's Fish Scale

From Good Old TV Fan Wiki

Bio[edit]

Gilligan's Fish Scale is an invention of the Professor (possibly) used to weigh objects on the island, mostly the fish on the island. Since it goes higher than the 200 pound limit of the Professor's Scale, the Skipper uses it to weigh himself to determine his ideal Navy weight at 6-foot, three-inches tall. Gilligan reveals that the Skipper weighs 221 pounds on it, or "between a large mouth bass and a hammerhead shark." The scale also reveals Gilligan as five pounds underweight to join the Skipper in the Navy. It's not really revealed as to why the Castaways have a need to weigh their fish unless it has something to do with their food conservation.
